La obra 'Salvator Mundi' de Leonardo da Vinci se subastó en Christie´s por una cifra récord de 450,3 millones de dólares.

Este hecho inspiró a un artista a organizar una contra-subasta para reflexionar sobre el significado más profundo de la obra de Da Vinci que muestra a Jesucristo como salvador del mundo. Para ello creó una versión de la obra que tituló 'Il Povero Salvator Mundi', que será subastada en un formato de donaciones en el cual el que done más se quedará con la obra.

This event inspires an artist to organize a 'counter-auction', in order to reflect on the real meaning of the Leonardo’s painting, where Jesus Christ is presented as the savior of the world. To accomplish this, he create a version of the painting named 'Il Povero Salvator Mundi' (The Poor Savior of the World), that will be auctioned in a donations format: the one who donate more, will be the owner of the painting.

El artista Leandro Gómez Guerrero realizó esta versión para hacer foco en el verdadero sentido del mensaje de un Cristo que vino a salvar el mundo de manera solidaria, ayudando a los más pobres y cuestionando a la riqueza personal, el beneficio propio y el lucro. Desde la forma pictórica buscó transmitir la austeridad y la sencillez de Jesús utilizando la técnica de la carbonilla y el pastel tiza, propia de los bocetos y estudios previos en la época renacentista. El destinatario de las donaciones será la Obra Padre Cacho, iniciada por este cura que fue a vivir entre los pobres y hoy está por ser reconocido como el primer Santo de Uruguay.

The artist Leandro Gómez Guerrero create this version to draw attention on the true meaning of the Jesus Christ message, who came to live among us to save the world with solidarity, helping the poorest and questioning personal wealth, the own benefit and profit. From the pictorial form he sought to transmit the austerity and simplicity of Jesus using the technique of charcoal and pastel chalk, typical of the sketches and previous studies in the Renaissance period. The recipient of the donations will be 'Obra Padre Cacho', initiated by this priest who went to live among the poor and today is to be recognized as the first Saint of Uruguay.

El día 6 de enero se realizará la subasta entre todos los que hayan donado, el que donó mas se quedará con la obra.
El 7 de enero se entregará la obra y el dinero recolectado culminando la celebración de la Navidad.
